You literally said the way we kill animals is disgusting. I’m not constantly attacking your religious beliefs, I’m entitled to opinion and on open forum to discuss it. I don’t think I’m being rude to you at all, I know it’s hard to express gestures and tone with messages, but I’m not aggressive. I’m just raising a point, if you think our way is disgusting enough to talk about you really should look how your meat is killed in the west.
I just think that she has probably never witnessed the killing of an animal before. Mine has showed me pics of animal and after .. I can’t hardly eat meat because I think of them..(animals that is, chicken cow etc) I don’t think I could look at that although I know it is a very sacred religious thing to you and many others! But that’s me and it is all over the Bible the animals brought as a gift so I think it’s the way it came across.. my grandmothers both had like a farm I remember my aunt (tomboy very country) trapped a rabbit and we did eat that it’s just the older I get my stomach I guess is weaker.. don’t get me wrong I love meat even eaten frog legs but I don’t eat that much meat any more.. just me

I just don’t see anything wrong with the way they do it. We do the same in Middle East , it’s the way we have done for years and years. It’s better than force feed an animal corn and shot in head or slit the throat on conveyor belt, then grind together parts and pieces from head and

The way they kill the sheep is just sooo disgusting, poor animal..And they prepare the meat before the sheep gets cold, and they wanted me to eat it...no way
I think thats the reason that i dont eat meat from sheep/lamb
I saw the way the sheep was killed they slit the knife jaggered all way from throat to stomach then while sheep are still warm they cut out the meat and cook it straight away
The smell off the sheep and the horrible screaming and gurgling sound is sickening
They even post videos off the sheep being killed by them
The cows too are killed in a similar way
They take great delight in this I know its culture but to video the killing off the sheep and post it no no
I too don't eat meat after seeing this

You can buy the sheeps and cows heads in Tunisia its put out side the butchers shop the smell is so bad with a cafe right next door
No but I suppose that's how things are done in Tunisia
Some cafes and restaurants are not even clean
But some coffees and restaurants in sousse are spotless u just have to be carefull where u eat
Personly look for the places where someone leaves and the cleaning takes place before someone else sits there

did anyone smell the sewage, in the area my ex-rat lived you can smell the pee and actually see it going down the street
I stepped in it once ewww!

the garbage was strewn everywhere, wild packs of dogs and starving cats
the lake that was near by was smelly and no one could swim in it, it just gave off a foul odor

Yes i remember, garbage was everywhere, and the smell of pee all over, and they wanted cats, but never gave them food. When we made food the cats came when they smell it. Poor animals. They gave food for the dog but not for the cats. When we was at coffee cats came to our table,

And imagine when you eat,5-6-7 person sit there and grab the food with the fingers, all eat from the same plate...Where was this fingers before you start to eat your meal...Even if uou washed yor hands before..Its not normal
So just attack me now
I know I wondered myself, this is what they do when they have a lot of people for dinner
I ate from that to be polite but I went to the farthest side of the plate away from their fingers haha

Also when you go to reataurant watching people eat, they throw bones and bread and other food scraps directly at the table,it looked like pigs have been sitting there and eat..
No manners!!!
they would keep baguettes and put in a bag in the cupboard, you would cut off a piece with your eggs and tuna and they would grab from the plate of tuna and eggs and they would save it for you to eat from it later
and the same baguette would be saved for the week hahah

It's a cultural thing @cara22, as far as I know it's very common in Arabic countries and also in some other countries. There's cutlery provided for those who are not custom to this and share the meal which is served and don't like eating like this.

Thats true where I was the dogs were in packs and barked constantly all night
The smell off sewage is bad and the rubbish was all over just dumped anywhere
I saw them throw the rubbish out off the car without a care for the environment
Tunisia has deteriorated rapidly since I first went
Even some hotels are not good to be even a 2* yer they have 3/4* on them and the hotel prices are not cheap like they used to be
Your talking up to £2,000 or more for a 3*
And up to £4/5,000 for a 4/5*
So tunisia as a cheap destination is no more
But as u see once your out off hotel there's absolutely nothing but baron land
Unless you travel to another town or your hotel is in centre off town
The taxi prices are hiked up so much that's its best hotel books u one and they will set the price
U agree or not
But I loved Tunisia so much it was like going home but not any more sad but true
Some beautiful places and beaches but u have to travel to get there
Sidi bou said is amazing it's beautiful but expensive but worth the travel
Just check the surrounding before u book
And one more thing with a rat in tow u will end up spending multu thousands a word off warning x

Maybe that family you saw did that, I’ve never seen that. … never. We slit the throat to drain the animal. I can post a video of a cow we recently did if it will help members know

So the reason the head is put outside the shop or sometimes you see the skin of sheep … this is to show customers what meat is available at that butcher at the time. People rarely buy the head that is sitting out for days… we do this is Lebanon as well.
In Sousse absolutely there are 2 types of places. Places you go and places you don’t. You can look at the crowed to know if you want to go or not.

We eat together at home like this, but I don’t do it on social crowds… people are nasty..

I understand Arabic culture is something different, the way we do things is grossing some people out just because they were not raised to see it as a blessing. We view things totally different. I truly understand where you ladies are coming from since I’ve lived in USA and Europe for many years. The reason me and my husband decided to make our life in Tunisia is because we want our children to grow up here in their culture and despite what some will say we still have the family unit values here and in other Arabic countries. My opinion only based on my beliefs….. I didn’t want my son to go to school to be asked if he wants to be a boy or a girl or a unicorn. The crime in western countries is out of control right now, I’d rather smell trash when I pass dumpster in Sousse than be gunned down at a red light for looking at someone. I absolutely agree Tunisia and many Arab countries have changed in the years with the economy, politics.. etc. it can actually happen anywhere to be fair.
