Of course they don't live in a vacuum and they all know someone who lives abroad.

But that's exactly the problem.

The Tunisians living abroad convey a completely wrong picture of Europe.

They send money, come with big cars and lots of gifts.

But that many live on credit and that everything is just a soap bubble is not seen.

And yes, many want to take advantage of the positive qualities of Western life, just as they do with their culture.

Take only the best of every culture ...... Unfortunately, it doesn't work in the long run.

It's like Instagram vs reality the picture they attempt to paint. Wearing counterfeit t-shirts emblazoned with labels then the same day begging their women in western countries for money for material shit

And for rats, the "I'm a good muslim" line is used and manipulated to suit a given situation.

The part that stands out now for me is the next time I hear "I love you" from a man, because of the abuse I suffered from the ex-rat I don't see love the same.
Although I should not think that person will be like the ex-rat was, I am at the point where I healed but I have put walls up still.
I just don't want to get as hurt as I was ever again!
Not sure how to let someone else in my life again!
I have a right to be happy and I deserve it!
The ex-rat should have no control over the rest of my life, as I don't have any over his and neither do I care if he has anyone to be honest!
And another thing is that the ex-rat is out of my life, but the residual effects linger around.
If I do find true love, I hope this true love will not be swayed by lying and deceptive messages from the ex-rat, hard to cover all bases even though I have blocked him entirely from my life!
I will have to be living under a rock and out of view of social media with a new love.
Anybody have any ideas how to handle that?

This is it, my rats mum "loved "me , facetimed me, I was always video called with nephews and nieces of his who also "loved" me.

I've been married to a Tunisian for over 10 years. He is a good man. But still it's not easy with the culture.

His family expects him to send money every month.

And there really is a new emergency every month.

He has a side job to his full time job. Just so he can send money every month and it's never enough.
He is in Europe and therefore rich. And so that the whole family looks good in front of the neighbors, a new house must of course be built. Sheep are slaughtered and the whole neighborhood is cared for.

So that the family can finally get recognition
And even though he's a good man and does everything for me, I feel sorry for him.

His family puts a lot of pressure on him. And there is no escape even though so many miles away

His family isn't bad either. But just without education and very easy.

They do not understand that there is no tap running out of money in Europe

There are members here at the forum, tunisian and others nationalities who live in tunisia so I think they know how the health care works there and I am sure they used it one way or another

I was lucky enough to know this culture long before I met my husband.

I knew what I was getting into and so it was no surprise.

And my husband has always been honest and a hard worker.

But even though I theoretically knew what I was getting myself into, in reality it is grueling.

And I am pragmatic. He is a good man and I know that I can always trust him.

Everyone is going through a tough time we have sll suffered at the hands off these subhuman ratcrappers and we are here to support each other my time with the rat was a nightmare, I have suffered enough with this vermin ,so I'm so sorry if u think we are full off laughter for this ,belive me when I say days are full sometimes off memories off pain anger ,and the only way around this is by laughter ,yes at the rats ,laughing at unsanitary ways in body ,the way they spit out those dam nuts like a dam monkey all over the place the way the filp flops squelch and feet seem to fall to the side ,and foot odour wow !! The way the food falls from the mouth when eating ,they despise the pig but eat like one ,the shower is a whole new world to them ,
They all dance like gay men ,but deny any involvement, the bum never gets washed propley ,so the shit falls from the mouth and by god u can smell it dose erggghh..
They are no bigger than a rat i think they all stopped growing at 5ft !!!.
The zibibis remained at 1 incher
We look back and think wtf did we see in them but at the time we were inlove, we were made to feel inadequate by them ,but we now look at them and see the little grotesque man they were, you see this is our coping mechanism, laughter to over come the place we were when only darkness was apparent, now there's light and we laugh at them, yes and ourselves when we remember the truth about the rats !!!and what we put up with ,we can now see as the rose tinited glasses have been removed .
No longer do we see Brad Pitt but the characters from shamless thats the real truth
No more blindness we can now see the real ratcrappers !!!!!!
We support each others in our dark days and laugh together in our good days xxxx.

It's your money and you have the total right not to send it anybody - healthy or sick.
You absolutely do not understand hints)) "Sorry, so silly girl" - he can make his hints, blink his eye, do whatever he wants. You may NOT take into account any hints. Just say that you are very sorry about a sick relative and that's it.
Then if he will ask directly, you understand he is a rat. They have very big families, they always help each other. Genuine tunisian will not ask you for money for his relative.
But asking for the proof... It just says the same, there is no trust in this relationship. Where do you want to go further, if there is no trust at this stage? In this case better to end everything anyway, with rat or not.
Just dont send money anyway.
You cannot save all the homeless pets. You cannot heal up all the sick people.
You can protect your money and your nerves, it's more easy when you understand - he is not you, his relatives are not your relatives, your money - not his.

I’m sorry but I don’t really understand what your point is. It may be because your last sentence was not completed. If you read a bit in this forum, if you know how rats operate, you know that when a man friended a woman online and that after a few conversations, he mentions a sick parent and hints that the family doesn’t have the funds to pay for the treatment, chance is he is being deceitful and he is waiting for the woman to offer to send money.

I find it bizarre advising women to sympathize with the man from all their heart! Or to tell him that she’ll pray for the relative. Doing that gives the message to the rat -because it’s a typical rat trick- that she is gullible and will be easy to manipulate. I’d rather tell the ladies : Beware, Red Flag!

A man who is not a rat may mention in a conversation that he has a sick relative but he won’t talk about the difficulty his family is having to pay for the bills.
