Welcome and yes so many Tunisian love European woman or woman from anywhere besides Tunisia.... we all on here have been taken by one of the 90 percentile that are bad ......love us, love our money they know how to “talk” the love for the money or ticket to get out of Tunisia..they (mine) even said he hates Tunisia so hard said he doesn’t like Tunisian girls but this is what they all say. I do have to say though that you need to be prepared to be questioned, questioned and questioned some more because, understandably the members on here are VERY wary of Tunisia men that come here on the pretence of helping but turn out to be rats. That said we have some honest Tunisian men on here @ismail and @riseandshinelad are prime examples of honest Tunisians.

I agree that western women are beautiful but I have to say that many many Tunisian women are absolutely stunning.

Can I ask why you say man from Kairouan is very bad also? I had a very bad experience with Kairouan.

Hi Kenji I don't know much about divorces but what I read here is when you don't want to marry in the near future you can let him do all the troubles to get divorced from you because he wants to get married again. You can get his birth certificate to see if he has divorced you yet. @Mica, or @Etoyoc or another member can help more on this subject.

You could well already be divorced - if he gave a false address for you they will have written to you 3 times and if you don't respond he can divorce you then, it's quite a common tactic.

Hopefully the above has happened - if you are divorced it will show on his birth certificate or drivers licence and you should be able to get hold of his birth certificate but I'm sure someone on here can give you more advise on this.

Hi Kenji, yes, if you're not planning to marry again let him deal with it and pay for it.

The only downfall to that is that as long as you're still married he will be considered your next of kin, so if you have any assets make sure you've written a will otherwise it will automatically all go to him.

There was a website where you could order copies of birth certificates but it hasn't been working for a long time now
The website was https://etatcivil.gov.tn it might be worth asking the embassy if they know if there is a new website for this.
Alternatively you could contact an English speaking Tunisian lawer who should be able to get you a copy or find out about any divorce proceedings
