Report: Decrease the volume of financial crimes by 10%, would help create 80,000 jobs per year in Tunisia
Successful recovery of just 10% of what Tunisia loses to IFFs would allow the government to fully subsidize minimum wage costs for 40,000 youth for a year, or subsidize 50% of minimum wage costs for 80,000 youth for one year.
The study recommends that national authorities consider establishing and / or strengthening non-criminal mechanisms for the seizure and confiscation of ill-gotten assets in the context of IFF crimes. To this end, consideration should be given to adopting and implementing centralized collection mechanisms through the coordination of the various stakeholders concerned.
